ABOUT MAIDEN SKIS

Maiden Skis is owned and operated by Kelvin Wu, an avid skier and engineer who first started building skis in his Seattle garage. He wanted to experiment with his own ski designs, test new ideas and improve upon commercial options.

In 2004, Kelvin’s DIY enthusiasm led him and two friends to create SkiBuilders.com, a forum focused on how to build skis. Looking to design and test his custom skis in the mountains, Kelvin moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, in 2012 and founded Maiden Skis.

Whether you specify your custom ride from afar or help us make your own skis in our studio, Kelvin will work on your unique product with extreme care from pencil sketch to finished pair. That attention to detail allows you to customize every centimeter of your ski with just the right look and feel based on your size, skiing ability, terrain preferences and personal style.

Should you want to build your own skis at home, you can visit our sister site Blank Slate Skis for high-quality materials and equipment.

Our distinct approach to every product we design makes Maiden Skis a valuable resource for adaptive skiers, whose sit-skis are exposed to more weight and different forces than standard skis. We have handcrafted custom sit-skis for Paralympic athletes, participants in the Adaptive Steep & Deep Camp at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and adaptive skiing programs at other top ski resorts in North America.

Located in Jackson, Wyoming, we welcome all visitors. Stop by our studio to show us what you’ve created, try out a pair of demo skis or just to chat. We believe a great ride starts before the top of the mountain – let us help launch your Maiden journey.
